DIVA DESTRUCTION - Passion´s Price

Erstveröffentlichung: CD 1999/2001 / Alice In... / Novamedia

In the last weeks, all big German Underground magazines published enthusiastic articles about the US Band DIVA DESTRUCTION and the German label ALICE IN... got the worldwide rights (except USA, Canada, Mexico) for this brilliant Gothic-Rock release!

„Passion´s price“ gives us a kind of „Industrialized-Gothic-Rock“, which means, that Gothic-Melodies and -Guitars meet powerful Electro-Drums and a lot of other Electro-influences, without becoming simple Crossover Sound. „Passion´s Price“ is absolutely a Death-Rock/Gothic-Rock album and with the fantastic Clubhit „The Broken Ones“ it features a future classic. I´m sure, that this song will also be great in 5 or 10 years!

Debra Fogarty´s voice reminds me a bit on a mixture of Alison Shaw (Cranes) and Siouxsie Sioux. If you like bands somewhere between Switchblade Symphony, Sunshine Blind and typical Italian Gothic-Rock like early Deviate Ladies or Chants Of Maldoror, this will be the right album.

It seems, that the US scene has a lot to explore in the near future. After bands like Cinema Strange and The Crüxshadows, DIVA DESTRUCTION is the latest offering from the USA, and I am sure, they won´t be the last! (A.P.)
